Mr. Sandman

Are you kidding me? I'm just...just...{speechless}. Andres Amador is an artist based in San Francisco and does the most amazing sand art, only to be washed away within hours. Like sands through the hourglass don't you think?

Orange Crush

I {heart} this 70's inspired skirt by Marc Jacobs. Just how tiny is this model's waist anyway? I think I would style it a bit different, probably just a good ol' Hanes ribbed tank and some vintage wooden beads...and flip flops, duh. I'm sure Mr. Jacobs would cringe at the thought, but in my mind, it's darling.

Dyeing For The Weekend

Don't you just love dyeing stuff? I broke out the dye kit I purchased last year from the after Easter clearance bin and Coco and I proceeded to create a rainbow of eggs and a fine centerpiece for the kitchen. Dyeing eggs certainly brings me back to my childhood in an instant, or maybe it was the very large glass of perfectly chilled pinot grigio that made me happily skip down memory lane. Yep, good weekend indeed!

Always Judge A Book By Its Cover

I have a date...this weekend! It's with my new beloved book that the postman just delivered {shout out to the USPS even if stamps are a whopping $0.45 now}. As you all know I'm addicted to Atomic Ranch, the magazine dedicated to all things mid-century modern. Anyway, the editors have just released their second coffee table book which I'm patiently waiting to dive into this weekend and read cover-to-cover. I guess you are technically suppose to leisurely thumb through a coffee table book while sipping a martini with your hair tied up in a vintage silk head wrap or something snazzy like that but not me. With pigtails in my hair, I will have every page cracked by Sunday.

Atomic Ranch coffee table book, I {heart} you, I really do - more so than an actual live romantic date {Tom Ford excluded}. This perhaps explains the very reason I am single.

Oh Happy Day

As I dragged my butt out of bed this morning {dreading, dreading, dreading Monday}, I came downstairs to start the daily fire drill to get Coco ready for school, me ready for work, blah, blah, blah. I must say though, I was instantly cheered by my colorful flower selection from the market yesterday as well as the one ray of sun coming through the kitchen.

In trying to keep a positive spin on things today, I think I'll look forward to a good lunch workout at the gym, maybe followed by Tom Yum soup for lunch, and a good magazine before bed tonight.

Things could be worse...I may not have picked those very flowers yesterday.
